  • Ronald Shon, MBA

    President
  • Ron has been involved in the Vancouver real estate industry since the 1970’s and was responsible for the development of a number of iconic buildings including Cathedral Place in downtown Vancouver. Ron also guided the land assembly and securing the lead tenancies for the HSBC Building at 885 West Georgia Street.

    Ron has a wealth of real estate related experience in various markets and provides high level guidance to the company’s clients. He participated in and led a number of significant financings including the Marathon Realty package which included Langara Gardens and Shawn Oaks in Vancouver and the purchase of the Place Victoria office tower in Montreal. Ron was also instrumental in the company’s expansion into the United States with the purchase of Park Central III, a 521,000 square foot office tower and the 236 unit First Day apartment complex, both located in Dallas, Texas.

    Ron obtained a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He was previously on the Board of the Vancouver Opera, St. George’s School, and the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation and was Chair of the Sun Yat Sen Garden Society of Vancouver. Ron also served on the Asian Advisory Committee of the Bank of Montreal and as a Trustee of the Vancouver Board of Trade.

  • Wayne Beattie, B. COM RI

    VP Property Management & Leasing, Managing Broker
  • Wayne has over 25 years of experience in the Vancouver commercial real estate industry in all aspects of the business. He currently oversees all property management and leasing services and provides strategic advice to our clients for asset/property management, value enhancement, and development opportunities.

    Wayne is also instrumental in fostering strong relationships with our tenants and clients, providing strong leadership and accountability to our growing team, and leads our corporate sustainability initiatives. Wayne has worked in senior positions with such high profile companies as Triovest Realty Advisors, where he was responsible for the management of the Willingdon Business Park, Vancouver’s most prominent suburban office location with 9 buildings totalling one million square feet.

    Wayne also was instrumental in the growth of Uptown Property Group, where he led the development and management of several suburban office buildings from initial design through to lease-up, including the redevelopment of Westminster Centre with Metro Vancouver’s first LEED Gold office project. Wayne obtained a B.Com in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia, has been a member of the Real Estate Institute of BC for 20 years and holds a current Rental Property Management License and Managing Broker License.

  • Matthew Shon

    Manager, Special Projects
  • Matthew joined Shon Group Realty Advisors in 2021 as Manager, Special Projects. He has over 10 years of experience in the commercial real estate business with an extensive background in mortgage financing. Prior to Shon Group, he worked as a commercial mortgage broker with one of Canada’s largest mortgage companies, annually funding over $300 million in mortgages across all major asset types. Matthew has a BA and a Diploma in Urban Land Economics, both from the University of British Columbia.

  • June Ma, CPA CGA

    Controller
  • June joined the Shon Group in 2017 as Controller and is responsible for the financial reporting for the Shon Group of Companies and its property management clients. June has over 25 years of senior accounting experience in all asset classes including office, industrial, retail, mixed-use and shopping centres. June brings extensive property management accounting expertise to our clients having held senior positions with several prominent organizations in the commercial real estate industry such as Cadillac Fairview, Colliers International and the Peterson Group.

  • Katerina Tsai

    Property Manager
  • Katerina joined Shon Group Realty Advisors in 2024 bringing over a wide experience in property management. Katerina has consistently demonstrated her ability to optimize assets, mitigate risks, and ensure client and tenant satisfactions. With a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and ongoing professional development, including pursuing the RPA designation with BOMI Canada, Katerina combines her strong educational foundation with practical expertise to excel in the real estate industry.

    Katerina had worked with high profile companies such as Triovest Realty Advisors, Warrington PCI Management, GWL Realty Advisors, etc. where she was responsible for the management of diverse portfolios including retail stores, shopping centres, offices, industrial warehouses and multifamily rentals. Katerina is passionate about contributing to the real estate community and used to serve as the Treasurer and Secretary for the CCIM Western Canada Chapter BC in 2012 and 2013. She currently holds Rental Property Management License and Real Estate Trading Services License with BC Financial Services Authority.

  • Queenie Liang, CPA, CGA

    Senior Property Accountant
  • Queenie recently joined Shon Group Realty Advisors as Senior Property Accountant and brings 9 years of accounting and financial experience in the real estate industry specializing in the fields of commercial, residential rental, and strata property management. Queenie obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) designation in 2017 and holds a Bachelor of Accounting Degree and Financial Management Professional Accounting Diploma from British Columbia Institute of Technology.

  • Lynn Zhao

    Property Accountant
  • Lynn joined Shon Group in early 2021 as a Property Accountant. She has over 8 years of experience in full cycle commercial property accounting with various companies and graduated from BCIT with a Financial Management Diploma.

  • Lena Cho

    Tenant Services Coordinator
  • Lena recently joined the Shon Group as Tenant Services Coordinator where she is responsible for ensuring the prompt and efficient provision of all services related to the continued operation of the buildings to tenants and clients. As a dedicated professional with over seven years of experience in Property Management, Customer Service, Administration, and Real Estate Conveyancing, Lena has demonstrated success working for companies such as Larco Investments Ltd., First Service Residential, and Macdonald Realty. She holds a diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology from NAIT.

  • Steve Peressini

    Senior Engineer & Operations Manager
  • Steve joined the Shon Group in 2000 as a Building Operator at Cathedral Place and has grown to become our Senior Engineer and Operations Manager since 2005. Steve is responsible for developing and overseeing all preventative maintenance programs at our properties, providing direction and leadership to our team of building operators, and assisting management and property managers with maintaining a first class standard of operations and services for our tenants at the properties we manage.

    He also oversees all tenant and capital improvement projects, our corporate safety and energy efficiency programs, and assists with the preparation of property operating expense and capital replacement budgets. Steve is a 4th Class Power Engineer, has a trades background as a plumber and class B gas fitter, and has wealth of experience in new construction, renovations, and general maintenance of commercial properties.

  • Allan Ballesteros

    Building Operator
  • Allan joined the Shon Group as Building Operator in 2014 and is an important part of our maintenance team at Cathedral Place. He recently completed the 4th class Power Engineering certificate and brings over 17 years of experience in commercial property maintenance and marine vessel repairs and maintenance.  Allan is proficient with all types of building automation systems and has varied skillset in electrical, plumbing, painting and general maintenance tasks.

  • Alexander Sowinski

    Building Operator
  • Alex joined Shon Group in June 2024 in the position of Building Operator and is assigned to Cathedral Place office building in downtown Vancouver. He has over 10 years of experience in building/facility maintenance and power engineering for various organizations and is dedicated to providing service excellence to the buildings he looks after.
